Ways to donate

Any donation you make, big or small, will go towards vital, world-class cancer research that can save lives and change lives.

TROG’s world leading research into radiation therapy and cancer treatment clinical trials help us to determine whether a promising new treatment is safe and effective and give us a better understanding of existing treatments.

Like chemotherapy and surgery, radiation therapy is a widely used cancer treatment, with around one in six people needing it during their lifetime.

Radiation therapy controls and even cures various cancers using high-energy x-rays and cutting-edge research and technology is continuously improving treatments.

We help change and shape treatment practices to improve the control of cancer and patient comfort across the community.

Workplace Giving

Workplace giving is when you make a small and regular donation, via your workplace. They have the benefit of giving you (or your team) a tax break and help you make a difference with a pre-tax charitable donation scheme.

It's an easy and effective way for workplaces to contribute to life-saving cancer research. Some employers will even match employee donations as part of their own corporate social responsibility program.

Bequest

Continue your legacy with a lasting gift. You can continue to support research into more effective treatments for cancer patients by remembering TROG Cancer Research in your will (including TROG Cancer Research in your will through a bequest).

Bequests play a vital role in helping to fund cancer clinical trials, ensuring that important research continues to improve the outcomes and treatments for people suffering from cancer.

We strongly recommend that you consult with a solicitor when preparing your will. We understand the careful consideration that is required in making this important decision.

To arrange a confidential discussion or to obtain further information we would be more than happy to meet or discuss this important decision with you.

Fundraising Events

Hosting a fundraising event is a great way to show your support for TROG Cancer Research. Gather your family, friends or work colleagues for a fun event that raises vital funds to assist us in finding new and innovative ways to treat and manage cancer.

Fundraising can take on many forms – it can be as simple or as elaborate as you choose. It can be a one-off event, a regular activity in the workplace, or a series of small events in the lead up to a particular milestone.

No matter what the event you host, it’s a fantastic opportunity to show support for those affected by cancer and those working to treat it.

In Memory

When you lose a loved friend or family member, a commemorative donation to TROG Cancer Research is a thoughtful way to honour their memory.

Every life lived is important and gifts of money in lieu of flowers are a fitting way to help fund cancer research.

If you are arranging a funeral and would like to encourage your family and friends to give an 'In Memory' gift to cancer trials research, we can help. Alternatively, ask your funeral director to contact us.

Tea4TROG

Every year in October we aim to host our annual Tea4TROG event. This event provides a great opportunity to connect with local businesses and community members over a high tea while also raising valuable funds for TROG Cancer Research.

As our TROG Cancer Research high tea fundraiser grows in success year on year, our last event in 2019 proved to be no exception with the sold-out event celebrating record numbers.

Unfortunately we will be hitting pausing on our event for 2022, but if you are interested in attending in the future – let us know!

Tea4TROG 2019

Hosted by cancer survivor and radio broadcaster Julie McCrossin, the event was entertaining and informative as Julie spoke of her own experience of head and neck radiation therapy and her amazingly positive results.

Our guest speaker, Associate Professor Puma Sundaresan, Consultant Radiation Oncologist at Blacktown and Westmead Hospital and member of the TROG Scientific Committee and TROG Cancer Research Board member, provided an inspiring and informative presentation on TROG Cancer Research processes.

Focusing on trial development from initial stages through to end results of changing clinical practice, she provided guests with insight into the vital role TROG Cancer Research plays for researchers, medical professionals, patients, and the wider community.  As well as enjoying a sumptuous high tea, guests showed great generosity taking part in a silent auction and raffle with plenty of donated prizes.

Hosting your own Tea4TROG!

Did you know there are opportunities to host your own Tea4TROG? In conjunction with our annual event, we have had numerous successful events take place across the country during the month of October, with funds going directly to TROG Cancer Research clinical trials.

In the past, these events have been sponsored by ACIM Solutions, Monica Clare Recruitment and the Varley Group with support from local companies such as Seed Consulting and The Marketing GP.

We aim to encourage and provide further details on hosting your own event in 2023.
